delight in summer

this late summer blast of crystal clear, hot and delightful weather has been a dream.  the lake has been like glass and begs for the brief disturbance of our wake and laughter!
despite the look on her face, nan does enjoy a good ride.  it was a deliriously beautiful day, where the niggles of work took [...]

perspective alone... and in the company of women

perspective alone… and in the company of women

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 No Comments

up until yesterday, this is where i’d spent two and a half days.  alone.  soaking up sun… warmth… and a little much needed perspective.  in amongst the yoga and meditation, that is.  just a whole lotta goodness all ’round.
the weather, couldn’t have been better.
the company- 12 other women- wonderful… when i chose to find my [...]

the interesting thing about getting work… when i’ve been so looking forward to work… is pricing my work.  first inclination is to under-price… under-promising… so i can blow socks off.  but then i’m often left working for next to nothing.  as things are way busy right now and i’ve got a lot of things on [...]

pause…

Sunday, August 16, 2009 No Comments

kept too much thinking at bay today… just way to much to do to spend time mulling over how much there is to do… surrender.
sunshine! warm, hot sun… paddle ball… ella… little girls… bubbles… neighbors… water guns, beach blankets… birthday parties, sourpatchkids… empty parking lots, fluffy clouds, reflections… curves in the river… time… a tidy [...]

for the blues

Saturday, August 15, 2009 No Comments

today… it’s all about working hard to stay the course, trying hard not to succumb to impatience. impatience quickly (d)evolving into discouragement. blues.  though for the first time, truly moving in the right direction, but feeling… that things should all fall into place… right now.
no. along with intention… there’s readiness. preparation. growth.  many components- pieces [...]

lush… life

back from camping… it was rainy. rainy. rainy.  but lusciously so.  no obligations to do anything. played cards. cards. cards.  crazy eights. old maid. go fish. everything was green.  alive. full of colour.
back… but ready to take up residence in our tent trailer and hit the road… otherwise, pizza night.  hot bath.  movie night. busy [...]

grey… overwhelmed with colour

we’re leaving for camping today… and the weather is not looking as though it will cooperate.
but, we’re bringing games, books, fishing gear, a little boat, warm clothes and yummy food… all the trimmings for three days in a camper by the lake, nestled in the mountains.
getting on the road… caramels, bratwurst, comforters, miss vickie’s, fresh [...]

heaven… by the slice

topping my list of favourite things… beating out cotton bras, kittens, fresh coffee and a mexican coca-cola, ice cold… is crisply baked dough topped with zingy sauce, ooey gooey cheese and spicy pepperoni! Add an ice cold mexican coke and well, i’m done.
i do believe this was the magic combo that closed the deal with [...]

mouths of babes…

Sunday, August 9, 2009 No Comments

the babe may be only 10 and a 1/2, but he is full of wisdom beyond his years.  he has informed me that our (his parents) lives are lacking balance… all work and no family time.
as work-at-home parents, we sort of take for granted that family time is all the time, being so available.  not [...]
